WHO I AM MAKES A DIFFERENCE

For the last several years there has been an email that goes around about a teacher who presented each of her students with a ribbon that read "Who I am makes a difference" and she told each of them what a difference they made in her life. I thought each time that I read the note and of the changes it made in peoples lives, that it would be nice to do this; but, where does one find the ribbon.

Two weeks ago, the message again arrived in my email; but this time, when I read it the solution dropped into my head. I went to my card program and designed a business card with those words written on it and then made a plain ribbon like they use for medical issues and attached the ribbon to the card. I made one for each of the ladies in my Bible study plus three (3) extra for them to bless someone else. They were to give one ribbon card to someone who had made a difference in their life and after pinning it on them, give them the remaining ribbons to bless another individual and then that person could give the last ribbon out.

Reports are coming in and it is making me "giddy" with how the Lord is using this simple little card. One lady gave hers to a greeter at Walmart and he had tears running down his face--in a very manly manner of course! Another sent hers to her daughter in Salem, and she called in tears, and that weekend brought over a picnic lunch for everyone and they all vowed to get together at least once a month; this same lady sent one to her granddaughter in Texas and she called and was so moved that she wanted to know if she could do this in her church! My pastor's wife is planning a volunteer appreciation dinner and she called to ask if we could make them up as name tags for the evening.

The Golden Girls liked what happened so much that they want to keep this going. After all, there are lots of people in our lives that we forget to thank or tell them the difference they have made in our life. So we are going to continue our little project and see what the Lord is doing through this little sign of acknowledgement.

Textile Artistry

Here is one of my newest achievements, a Sherlock Holmes hat. I made this for Cindy Lockman's sister, who takes care of a lot of horses and is out in the cold weather breaking up frozen water troughs and checking on the animals. I thought it would keep her ears warm as the little bow on top, unties and ear flaps come down over the ears and is held in place by a tie string. Not to shabby for my first efforts, I think!
